Many of you may recognize this sim as an aged up Courtney Hayden - my generation 10 child from The Hayden Legacy. Well, I really liked how she turned out and I wanted to try a new challenge, just to play something different for a bit. That's when I stumbled upon the Movin' On Up Challenge. I thought that this sounded pretty fun, and so I decided to give it a try with Courtney as my starting sim.
So here she is in the first apartment of the list: 1313 21 Chic Street. Which has a crime tape outline of a body on the floor that cannot be removed. Lovely. Oh well, with any luck she'll only be here for a week.
Here is a quick rundown of Courtney's aspiration. It was all properly rolled for using her parents' information.
To work on her aspiration a little bit, I sent her to a community lot where she played the piano and the guitar for a little while. She got some tips in her jar, which was helpful.
Upon arriving home she stood in front of her fridge and ate a bowl of cereal. Very exciting stuff right here.
Anytime there was a box or a poster, I'd send Courtney to retrieve it so that I could sell it.
Courtney: So, since you wouldn't do anything about that weird dead body outline on my floor, I have decided to cover it up with this pretty rug.
Landlord: Well, that'll help for appearance purposes, but don't be alarmed when it randomly has a foul odor....I should be going now....
Courtney finally has a table to eat her cereal at.
She's also made her guest bedroom a yoga studio. After all, the rooms in the house have to be functional before she can move out. This is functional, right?
I did realize after the fact that it had to meet the bedroom and bathroom requirements as designated on the lot information panel. So I bought a bed and tossed it in the room before moving her out later.
Today begins the worst day for Courtney. First, there was a mouse in her apartment. (It's cute, but still.)
Then, her breaker broke and there were cockroaches crawling on the wall/floor when she went to fix it.
Then, when she went to sleep after having a terrible day, a vampire came in and drank her blood.
Which then caused her to pass out on the floor for the remainder of the evening.
When she finally woke up, her insane (or, I guess erratic now that they've changed that) kicked in and she began telling a story to herself.
Thankfully, the first week of bills arrived and she was able to move out of apartment number one and into the next apartment on the list.
She has moved into 19 Culpepper House now, which is actually rather cute.
It even has a nice balcony for Courtney to do her yoga on.
Unfortunately, this apartment also has roaches. (And mice, but I didn't get a picture of them on this lot.)
Courtney spends most of her time at this apartment playing her guitar (and banging on neighbors doors for being too loud.)
Another week passes and it's time for her to move into her third apartment.
This time she's moved into another apartment in the same building. Which really sucks because it's smaller and it doesn't have a balcony. 17 Culpepper House is also not very well painted on the inside, and Courtney is not pleased.
So, she decides to spruce it up by repainting and retiling the floors in purple.
She then romances her landlord, and shares her first kiss with him. I'm a terrible simmer because I can't find his name anymore, but I know his last name is Shimizu.
Courtney's fling with Mr. Shimizu has resulted in her becoming pregnant. This means that technically generation eleven of the Hayden family is on the way.
Mr. Shimizu was not very pleased by Courtney's pregnancy announcement.
However, as time went on, he warmed up to the idea.
And soon the couple were even getting engaged. Not very romantic though, what with Mr. Shimizu's bunny slippers and robe.
I'm fairly certain that eating food so spicy is not good for the baby.
Courtney: I heard eating spicy food can induce labor. I figured I'd give it a shot.
It doesn't work that way in the sims, unfortunately, sorry dear.
Courtney: Look, eating spicy food worked, I'm in labor.
No, you were hours away from going into labor before you ate the spicy food, but okay.
Meet baby girl Charlotte Shimizu. I decided to name her after the legacy founder of the Hayden's.
A few hours after Charlotte's birth, the bills arrived.
With the week of bills being paid, Courtney was finally able to become Mrs. Shimizu!
Up next on the list is 2B Jasmine Suites. Which was also given a dose of purple paint.
Shortly after moving into their new home, it was time for Charlotte to become a toddler!
I almost kept her in this hair and outfit because it was precious, but ended up finding something I liked better on her.
I gave her the blue to kind of match her namesake. She's an adorable little girl.
Of course, in true TS4 toddler fashion, Charlotte lives on her wabbit tablet.
Today is Mr. Shimizu's elder birthday.
He aged into a nice looking elder, I have to say!
That same night was also Courtney's adult birthday.
She looks a little aged, but she's still gorgeous as ever!
Mr. Shimizu is a great father to his daughter, and reads her stories every night when he tucks her in.
And just like that, another apartment is complete!
That's where we'll leave this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope to have another chapter out very soon! In the meantime, check in with me over at BoolProp!
This is my first attempt at the Movin' On Up Challenge.
