Welcome to the first chapter of my Officially Wacky BoolProp Challenge! If you haven't already, please head over here and read the prologue so you can get a general idea of what bonuses, mini challenges, and super mini challenges I have chosen to work toward.
This is our founder, Mingo Flamingo. I chose his name because one of the tasks for the challenge is that you must have three flamingos for every sim living in the house. Which means you'll have anywhere from 3-24 flamingos on your lot at any given time.
Mingo is not an alien, but if you read the prologue you know one of the bonuses I chose was the Base Game one so if I can keep the blue skin through the last generation (3) then I will get points! If I don't, then I automatically forfeit any other points from the Base Game bonus that I would've earned, so please make sure you vote for the blue sims. If you're not familiar with the rules, I've linked them in the sidebar so feel free to check them out, and if you're not already a member at BoolProp, we'd love to have you!
Mingo: Whoa, that's a lot of information. I'm a genius and even that is making my head hurt.
Well, we need to make sure you and the readers know what is necessary for this challenge.
Here we have a closer look at our founder. Mingo is a Jungle Explorer, which I thought was fitting since I picked the Jungle Adventure bonus. His traits were randomized to be Loves Outdoors, Genius, and Active.
The overlay on his skin is actually an alien tattoo that I downloaded, but it's under the tattoo category.
Since I picked the Realm of Magic bonus, I decided to have the family live in Glimmerbrook. I do wish there were larger lots here, but this one will do. I did have to evict a family and bulldoze their house, but hey it works.
Before I built Mingo his house, I went down the street and built the BoolProp clubhouse. I decided to pick the mini challenge for this and so Mingo and all of his descendants will have to visit this clubhouse 5 times each.
Here's a peek at the inside. It's nothing fancy, but it does the job.
Back on his home lot, we've built him this small starter home. It's very bare bones inside because I needed him to have money to go to Selvadorada.
Okay, one last thing to do to truly get this set-up, we need to send Mingo to The Magic Realm so that he can learn to be a Spellcaster. The rules stated I couldn't make him a spellcaster in CAS, so here we are.
Mingo: My eyes are glowing, this is a weird sensation. I suddenly have the urge to pick up glowing balls on the ground.
They're actually motes of magic. Mingo: That's what I said, glowing balls of magic.
Mingo: Wow, this ball is huge!
Again, they're magic motes.
Mingo: Here are seven glowing balls....er motes...of magic. Can I be a spellcaster now?
Mingo has successfully become a spellcaster!
Now, let's go spouse hunting and work on his aspiration!
We find the cheapest rental for Mingo to stay at and take a quick shower. I really should've thought to get him an umbrella, but I forgot.
One of his aspiration tasks is for him to view the statue of Madre Sosecha, which he does but complains about getting rained on the whole time. Sorry dude, it'll stop raining....maybe.
Luckily, one of the vendors was a local (I determined this since I was able to learn the Selvadorada culture from her.) Her name is Carolina Andrade and she's very pretty.
The only other woman who looked like she might be a native was not very approachable.
Woman: I will cut you.
After spending the day chatting to Carolina and buying supplies, he heads back to his rental to get some rest for tomorrow's adventuring.
Unfortunately, since it's the cheapest rental it has the lot trait Creepy Crawlies so he gets attacked by plasma bats as soon as he wakes up. Luckily, he had the Plasma Bat bait.
After a bite to eat, Mingo sets out for an adventure!
Mingo takes some time to excavate while enjoying the view. I always love how beautiful the waterfall is.
The Tree of Emotions has fruit ready for harvest, so I had Mingo grab some to plant back home.
I didn't get a picture of it, but later it ended up being beneficial since one of the traps required a certain mood to deactivate.
Soon, Mingo arrives at the temple.
Mingo begins examining the traps so he can hopefully get to the treasure.
Unfortunately, he picked the wrong option on one and wet himself. The popup said something about him getting very scared.
Mingo even got to meet the Temple Guardian.
Finally, Mingo makes it through the whole temple and finds the treasure. It was valued at around 8k which will be super helpful in building their house.
He then finds the royal baths and goes for a swim in the small part instead of the main part. Sims, am I right?
Back in Glimmerbrook, Mingo invites Carolina to the BoolProp clubhouse.
Their relationship was already decent so soon they were sharing their first kiss together.
Back at home, Mingo invites her over and asks her to move in with him. She graciously accepts.
Here she is post-makeover. She's actually an adult and not a young adult, but she's still pretty regardless. Since she's not a YA I probably won't be doing her aspiration since I'm not required to do the spouse's aspiration, and it's not a base game one either.
Back at the clubhouse, Mingo proposes to Carolina.
Note: I did keep the dress she already had but chose the "styled outfits" version because I really like it with the leggings
She happily accepted his proposal, despite the plus sign that looks like snot coming out of his nose.
The couple were the married right there. I think this may be where all the sims get married, because it's honestly a perfect background for this challenge.
Once they get back home, Mingo and Carolina try for their first child.
She conceived on the first try, though she doesn't look very happy about it.
Carolina: Mingo, guess what? You're going to be a father! I'm pregnant!
Mingo: But the house is so bare and empty.
I want to try to get him higher in his magic abilities before we go to Selvadorada again, so Mingo spends most of his days practicing magic.
Carolina: Um, the fridge is broken. Thankfully my yogurt is still good. But, can you repair that?
Sorry, it's not noon yet, no can do.
As soon as it was noon, however, Mingo used his repairio spell and repaired the fridge.
The family has a little flower bed for their flamingos now.
Speaking of, here is the house I had built when Carolina moved in. But I hated it. I couldn't figure out why I didn't like it or what I wanted to change, I just new I did NOT like it. So, I asked my friend Roxanne (Taube) what she though it needed, and she gave me some really good suggestions but I wasn't sure how to implement them, so I sent her the house and she worked on it for me.
Here is the modified house. She's so extremely talented, she just changed the shape of the front a little and added some dormers and them made this really cute fake chimney that I just love.
The new house was ready just in time for me to create a nursery and for Carolina to give birth!
It's twins! And they both have the blue skin!
I did the BoolProp naming mini challenge so both of these babies must have a 'B' name so meet Blake and Brayden!
I forgot to take a picture of the flamingo, and the babies were SOOO whiny that all I ever did was direct either Mingo or Carolina to care for the babies so I didn't get many pictures between when they were born and when it was their birthday, so now it's time for the twins to grow up!
Both boys grew up with blue hair. You can't see it here, but I forgot spellcaster genetics were still bugged so Brayden aged up into red eyes that weren't even the red that has my default. It was totally weird. So, I decided at that moment he would be my bad apple this generation.
Blake is a total cutie and got the independent trait, which will be great for me getting him some skills early on. He is not a spellcaster.
Brayden is a spellcaster, which I assume is why his eyes were bugged. So I flipped a coin to decide whether he'd get Mingo's eyes or Carolina's eyes, and he got Mingo's eyes. He has the charmer trait.
I even put them in matching CC jumpers because it was just too cute not to do. I really like them so far, so I'm curious to see what they look like as they age. Hopefully Brayden doesn't experience anymore bugs.
That's where we'll leave this chapter! I will have another chapter out as soon as possible! Feel free to check in with me over at BoolProp or on my Twitch Stream in the meantime, I'd love to chat!
